This was a funny show. I’ve been the front man for this band for over 20 years. About 15 years ago I started incorporating theatre into our shows. I would develop a character, a narrative. There would always be something you’ve never seen before. I would call these things original acts for mankind or OAMs for short. Sometimes a few people would leave at the beginning of our shows. We are never a textbook rock experience, however, invariably we would always get delighted feedback by the end. It’s become a part of our mystique. People have recounted ecstatically the theatrical elements of a show to me we did many years in the past.
This show was funny because this time my theatre idea involved the band. I never involve them in the narrative. They want to just play and show up in the flannel shirts they were at work that day. However this time I needed them for my idea and what a disappointment they turned out to be. I tell the story after the first or 2nd song I believe.
Lastly I still regret not putting one of the 3 cameras on our audience. It was a packed house and everyone was into it.
